Welcome to McCracken's Café Bar

Neatly tucked away in historic Joy's Entry sits McCracken's Café Bar. The entry, which runs between High Street and Anne Street is named after Henry Joy McCracken an 18th century political reformer and United Irishman who, it is said, walked to the gallows from the Old Belfast Jailhouse.

But that is as far as the historical influences go. The bar itself is truly 21st century urban chic and caters for those who want a comfortable and relaxed meal or drink and a feeling that they can leave the hustle and bustle of Belfast city far behind when in fact they are only a stones-throw away from it all.

New Chefs, Rustic Food & Extended Hours

McCrackens welcomes new Head Chef Gerard Magill. Gerard who has learned his craft at some of the finest eateries in Belfast now has the opportunity to make his own mark on the Belfast culinary scene. Describing his food as rustic his aim is to keep it ‘simple but superb’. Where food is concerned he sees no contradiction in those terms and his aim, like all the best chefs, is to source only the best local produce and as they say ’ everything flows from that’. Everything, literally from ‘soup to nuts’ and in the case of the new McCracken’s menu everything from his wholesome daily soup through to his home made ice cream is made from scratch on the premises. Belfast diners will find themselves in for really great food at unbelievable value at McCrackens. And to ensure more opportunites to avail of the cuisine food serving hours have been extended.
